SOCK BURNING PARTY in May will be the fourth time this event will be held on Johnson's Beach. The theme is to celebrate the sun which crossed the equator and has entered our northern hemisphere once again, welcoming in the spring and summer. Check the photos in the photo gallery.    A POKER RUN will be the first sailing event of the season with wind hopefully ranging from 5 to 12 knots per hour and blue sunny skies. The run will begin with a brief captain's meeting at noon to discuss details. The Poker Run is not a race but rather a "run" to different locations (7 white barrels) to pick up a card for a 7 card hand.  At the end of the run the best poker hand wins.  WEDNESDAY LATE AFTERNOON SAILS during the summer of 2011 sailors should come out for a late Wednesday afternoon sail and end with a sunset watch at the Boathouse Sailing Center.
